Our Story

A platform born from
one mother's search.

In 2018, a simple question from a young girl changed everything. This is how Daresni began โ€” and where it is going.

The Daresni story

Six chapters. One purpose.

Every company has a beginning. Ours started not in a boardroom, but in a family home in Bahrain.

Chapter 1 ยท 2018

A Mother's Challenge

Hana Al Tareif was a working single mother doing what so many parents do โ€” trying to give her daughter every advantage while managing the demands of a full-time career. She had worked at the Bahrain Economic Development Board, understood the value of education, and wanted the best for her child.

"Mum, can you help me with my French homework?"

Hana's daughter, Bahrain, 2018

Hana realised she couldn't help. Her French was not strong enough. She needed a tutor โ€” and she needed one quickly. What followed was three days of searching that changed the course of her life.

She posted in Facebook parenting groups. She Googled. She called friends, asked colleagues, scrolled through old forum threads. She found phone numbers that no longer worked. Educators who had left Bahrain. Tutors who were fully booked. Some who charged more than families could realistically afford.

After three days, she found one tutor. The experience planted a single, quiet thought that would not leave her alone:

"There has to be a better way."

Chapter 2 ยท 2018

A Small Idea

Daresni was never intended to become a startup. There was no pitch deck. No investor meeting. No grand plan to disrupt an industry.

It began as something far simpler: a way to help families save time while giving experienced educators a place to be found. Hana knew from her own experience that the problem was not a shortage of talented tutors. It was that families and educators had no reliable way of finding each other.

The name Daresni โ€” meaning "teach me" in Arabic โ€” captured exactly what she wanted to build. A platform that put the learner first. That made discovery easy. That gave families confidence in who they were inviting into their children's lives.

She started with a spreadsheet. A WhatsApp group. Word of mouth. And slowly, the idea began to grow.

Chapter 3 ยท 2019

The First 50 Educators

The first educators on Daresni were not strangers. Hana knew every single one personally. She reached out directly, met them, understood their stories, and built their profiles herself.

Many were retired teachers โ€” experienced, dedicated professionals who still loved teaching but had stepped back from the classroom. Others were mothers returning to education after raising their own children. A few were working educators looking for a flexible way to reach more students.

Every profile represented a real person. A teacher who had spent decades in the classroom and still had something left to give. A mother who had studied French in Paris and now offered lessons from her kitchen table. A sports coach who wanted to help children fall in love with movement.

This was not a database of anonymous tutors. It was a community of people whose experience and dedication deserved to be discovered.

Chapter 4 ยท 2020 โ€“ 2024

The Difficult Years

Building a technology platform without a technical background is one of the hardest things a founder can attempt. Hana learned this the hard way.

Developers who were hired disappeared โ€” taking code with them. Money was spent and lost. Systems were built and then collapsed. At one point, Daresni's entire booking operation ran through Google Sheets, managed manually, updated by hand.

There were moments when stopping would have been the rational choice. When the gap between the vision and the reality felt impossible to bridge. When the effort required seemed disproportionate to what any reasonable person could sustain.

She continued because families were depending on it. Parents were finding tutors through Daresni. Children were learning. Educators were earning income they would not have had otherwise.

"I couldn't stop. Real families were using it. Real children were learning because of it."

Hana Al Tareif, Founder

Those years were not wasted. They taught Hana more about what Daresni needed to be than any smooth launch could have. They shaped the platform's values: reliability, trust, simplicity, and a deep respect for the families and educators who depended on it.

Chapter 5 ยท Late 2025

Building Again

In late 2025, Daresni was rebuilt from the ground up. Everything that had been learned from the previous years โ€” the mistakes, the user feedback, the hard-won understanding of what families actually needed โ€” was put into building something that could last.

The new platform was designed with clarity. Discovery first. Trust built in from the beginning. A seamless experience that worked for both families and educators. An app that made booking simple, payments secure, and communication easy.

Months of work produced the Daresni you are using today. Not perfect โ€” no platform ever is at launch โ€” but built with honesty, purpose, and a genuine commitment to the families and educators it serves.

Chapter 6 ยท Looking Ahead

Where We Are Going

Daresni was founded in Bahrain. That will always be part of who we are โ€” our origin, our community, the place where the idea was born and tested. But Bahrain is the beginning, not the ceiling.

The problem Daresni solves is not unique to Bahrain. It exists wherever parents care about their children's learning. Everywhere a retired teacher has something left to give. Everywhere a working family wishes they could spend less time searching and more time together.

The vision for Daresni is to become the trusted place where families discover tutors, coaches, institutes and camps โ€” and where educators build meaningful, flexible careers doing what they love.

We are early in that journey. Much remains to be built. But the foundation is real, the community is growing, and the purpose that started it all has not changed.
